National Online Safety has released a new guide for parents and carers. This week’s content provides advice on how to pick strong and secure passwords.
Our passwords are how we prove who we are online. Combined with a username, it lets us access our accounts and data. Passwords are also used to keep unauthorised people looking to misuse our information out of our accounts.
However, as a security measure, passwords are relatively weak. People are often predictable in how we choose our passwords which makes them less secure. Fortunately, National Online Safety have collated some tips for creating stronger passwords including - enabling multi-factor authentication, using password managers and having different passwords for different platforms.
