National Online Safety has released a new guide for parents and carers. Given that it is mental health awareness week, the focus of this week’s guide is looking after your wellbeing online with useful tips for young people and parents/carers on taking care of their mental health.

The online world and digital technology have become such an integral part of our day-to-day lives. Therefore, we shouldn’t be surprised that it can have such a large impact on what we think and how we feel. Lots of experiences that young people have are positive ones, but unfortunately, that isn’t always the case.

Negative incidents online can be damaging to a young person’s mental health and emotional state. This week’s infographic shows how small and simple actions can protect our wellbeing when we’re online.
