A Choral Collaboration
On the 24th March, the music departments of Brooksbank and Ryburn Valley High School decided to shake things up by teaming up with Selwyn College Choir for an epic choral workshop held at The Old Courthouse in Halifax. This was a first for the music departments of the two schools, and a fantastic opportunity for students to explore their creative sides in a new setting.
The day kicked off with each choir taking turns to perform their unique styles and skills. Selwyn College Choir, with their exceptional vocal range and harmony, wowed the students with their first-class performance. Not to be outdone, Brooksbank and Ryburn showed off their own impressive renditions of various songs. Selwyn College seemed to particularly enjoy the Taylor Swift song the students taught them, which was a far cry from their usual repertoire!
The highlight of the event was the collaborative performance where the three choirs came together to perform songs at Halifax's Piece Hall. The audience was blown away by the harmonious blend of voices, and the students' teamwork and creativity were on full display.
The workshop was a roaring success, with students from all three schools having a blast while learning from each other. Collaborating with different schools brought out the best in everyone, allowing them to develop their character and learn from each other's strengths and weaknesses.
In conclusion, the Selwyn College Choir workshop was a great success, demonstrating the crucial role of creativity in character development. The experience was a fantastic opportunity for students to work together, learn from each other, and develop their characters through the power of music.
